Exercise in Pregnancy
I haven’t had much time to write any posts recently because I have had a lot of teaching commitments, and, when I have been home, lots of work to do in the garden. I love being in my garden, and working on my permaculture garden, and clearing my pond. I am finally living in accordance with the “permaculture” principles of Chinese Medicine!
I was inspired to share some of my favourite pregnancy exercises on YouTube. For those of you who know my work, you know that I learnt about the Extraordinary Vessels through working with pregnant women and their partners, pre-conception, antenatally and postnatally. When I became pregnant in 1989 there wasn’t that much on offer for pregnant women and there was a lot of fear and myths around what you could and couldn’t do. That’s why I went to study with pioneering obstetric physiotherapist Elizabeth Noble in Boston, US and then integrated what I had learnt with her along with my knowledge of the body and TCM to develop my own approach. I still teach this to my individual clients and my professional students.
I hope you enjoy this video and please share it with any of your pregnant friends! If you like my approach and you are a massage therapist, there are still a few places on my course next week in Bristol!
It would be lovely to see you there. Meanwhile enjoy the video. Even if you are not pregnant you might enjoy it.. And do let me know of any requests for themes for future videos.
